There are several dietary sources of collagen which are surely cheaper and likely more bioavailable than the stuff you're buying, regardless of manufacturer claims. Bone broth, citrus fruits, look up the list and fix your diet. Citrus will give you the collagen plus fiber which will naturally reduce appetite.

Just make your own bone broth in the instant pot. Much healthier and higher protein.

I recently started doing collagen peptides in my coffee again after a couple of years of not doing it. I also do 2 tablespoons/half the recommended serving per cup. I find it to be an easier and more reliable way (for me) to get a protein boost. If I drink it from a cup with a lid I don’t notice the flavor effect as much. And using cream/milk helps too. The brand I use has specific amino acids that are helpful for your body, and it does not say anything about not containing “dietary protein” so for me it’s worth it. I feel a difference when I take it but it also tends to coincide with other periods of healthy habits so who knows. I find it dissolves better than most traditional protein powders. When I use it for prolonged periods, I do think it helps my hair and skin.

This is sad. Just eat some food.

No, they don’t provide dietary protein. It says right on the bottle “not a source of dietary protein” or something along those lines. Eat an egg

OP here. I try to get my calories through solid food, which is why I haven't tried protein shakes (but thanks for the tip - I can try it out.) Maybe I should add 2 scoops of collagen per beverage?

Does anyone notice any benefits from collagen peptides? Honestly, I don't even see the benefits in nails, hair, and skin.

It taste so bad. Why not just have a protein shake?

I add two tablespoons to my coffee each morning. It’s half the recommended dose, but the full dose altered the taste too much for me.

I do think it helps curb it a little for me. I’m a teacher and can’t just eat when I want. I drink coffee around 7am, have a small protein snack at 10:30 and then lunch at 1. I think it does help me

Although collagen peptides are touted for improving hair and nails, are they a source of protein? I add a scoop daily to my coffee because I hope that it will curb hunger and stabilize blood sugar, but I don't know if the supplement has any noticeable benefits. It's pretty pricey and not all that great tasting so I don't know if I should continue using it. Should I switch to a regular protein powder?
