The problem with those teams is you never have enough kids to run a practice where you can go 5 on 5 to work on plays and game situations. Even getting enough together to learn plays can be a problem

Look for a team that picks only 10 players max. It's rare but there are a few of them.

My big tip is to observe some games and see how the bench is utilized.

It depends on the team. The younger you get, the more likely coaches are to give everyone at least a few minutes

It depends. If the club fields several teams, the lower tiered teams will play everyone.

No, coaches don’t play every kid. There is absolutely not the idea of equal playing time, and some kids will get in only for a few minutes or possibly not get in to close games.

Looking at 5th-8th range. Do coach play everyone? Are they upfront when questioned during tryouts? I get that every coach want to win to build their brand, but at the same time, if kids practice hard, they deserve some minutes to develop their game. I would hate to spend all that money to watch my kid warming the bench.
