I have a good friend that went to medical school in the DR. It wasn't her first choice, but she is very successful in the US as a doctor. But she would have preferred medical school in the US. You are taken more seriously.

I would absolutely let her do this.

She is a very strong student. She could good to a good college in the US.

How strong a student is she? If she wants to practice in the US, she'll have to take/pass USCMLE right? Look up stats for students from that school/country that have done it successfully.

DD has wanted to become a doctor forever. She learned that she can get an MD abroad, in our home country. It's a 6 year degree, the cost is negligible, the housing set. There is an entrance exam (biology + chemistry) that is doable. Should we let her do this?
