What everyone is trying to gently tell you is that you don’t know what’s best yet. That depends so much on what child you get.

OP, my best advice is lower your expectations and make most of these decisions based on what you discover about your baby’s preferences and needs. Yes, newborns have strong preferences. I planned to never ever use a Snoo or cosleep. I ended up doing both. I had all these plans but I got a baby who was the absolute worst sleeper on earth and rejected all my plans.

As for the Snoo, try what makes sense to you then adjust based on whether it works for your baby. Mine hated the highest two levels and couldn’t sleep in it with her arms it.

I get it, OP— I felt better with a plan ready to go. If that plan didn’t work— adjust and make a new plan, then try that. It’s just how I operate and it worked well for me as a new mom. I was able to feel more more prepared which helped me relax.

We couldn’t afford a Snoo but ohhhh I wanted one. Enjoy!!

Have you already purchased the Snoo? I really wanted one but couldn’t justify the price. But then my kids ended up being great sleepers on their own and I didn’t need it. I was glad I didn’t spend the money. If you don’t already have it, maybe see how your kid does without it first. You can always buy it later if you need it.

Initially the Snoo is fantastic for peace of mind. After a month or so, the features will actually help keep your child sleeping. We are one month in and our daughter gives us 5hr cycles fairly regularly. We check the Snoo app and while she did wake up, the Snoo calmed her without us even waking.

We started on waning mode but quickly changed to the standard baseline mode. It was a game changer.
Good luck..be open to changing that routine you have in mind.

Heard some horror stories about the transition but honestly we are fine using it until 6 months if she likes it and then sleep training

Totally get this. We are planning to get the uppababy remi for the living room and use the bassinet part as a play area - we have a big ole dog who we love and trust but will still plop her in the pack and play when we need to pee/cook/do something vs crate the pup. The accessible bottom will hopefully act as storage until she outgrows the top haha and then that will be our travel crib

No, you don’t need a swing.

In a small apartment you really don’t need multiple places for naps.

Strap that kid in to its little straight jacket and hit play. Mine loved it.

Talk to me about how to best utilize a snoo when. We get back from the hospital. We plan to use it until 6 months (with arms out) or until the weight limit and then transfer to a mini crib (room sharing a one bedroom apt)

The clip in feature is honestly the thing I'm most excited about. I have severe anxiety and knowing she can't roll and get stuck before she can help herself is going to be really helpful. We are being mindful of containers the rest of the day and are open to utilizing only at night and having her sleep in a pack and play in the living room for naps unless that will make it harder for her to adjust to the snoo.

We are skipping bouncer, swing. Basically floor time and a bassinet stroller so no extended time in the car seat.

But what's the best setting? Using weaning from day 1? Letting it do it's thing? Doing arms down or as up in a love to dream? We understand that what works one week probably won't work the next but trying to game plan as we get other things we need for ther corner of the room
