Government buys it, convert to mixed use and low-income housing.

That's one idea.

I wish people did not bring pets into stores. But, this is horrific. Wisconsin Ave. seems so grim overall.

Since Frumin can't get his hands on Whittle, perhaps the city can buy the IB/Fannie Mae building and turn the whole thing into disadvantaged housing.

Ward 3 needs more, Frumin wants more. There is now a huge building available. No weird zoning issues. A supermarket already there. This is kismet!

Tenleytown has gotten a whole lot seedier over the past few years.

Gee, hmmm , wonder why??

I don't think so. People are acting like hybrid is the end but more and more companies are requiring RTO. Everywhere but DC.

Once crime goes down, DC will RTO too. Maybe in 2050?

Doubt that will happen, the Marriott in Woodley has not been gone long and was in a more appealing location. Post covid is there a dearth of hotel rooms?

I don't see them finding a tenant easily.

Really rough fiscal times ahead for DC with CRE implosion. Crime stories are likely not helping tourism either.

Good luck with finding new tenants. Who wants to be subjected to an armed robbery/carjacking for a job that can be done at home.

Does anyone know how the leasing is going in those apartment buildings? Another one is scheduled to open soon.

Armed robbery on that pretty lawn three weeks ago.

I graduated with an IB years ago and had no idea that they were a big enough company to rent that kind of office space. They always seemed like a pretty low budget type of affair. I was surprised when I moved to the area and saw that they were buying the Fannie Mae building.

Looks like they put the entire property up to sublet today. That is pretty amazing. They moved from Bethesda to the Wisconsin Ave address less than a year ago.
