Need the name of the particular LAC. Nonetheless, Michigan opens more doors than any LAC including Amherst & Williams.

Few top engineering/medicine have started leaving UF. It's been described as "fire sale" has begun...

They're not ranked the same at all. US News uses a completely differently list for them. Just completely different experiences.

Florida is fine, at least was before DeSantis. Michigan is premier.

Disagree.

The classes and academic exposure my kid has had at Michigan is as good as any in the country.

If you think Grinnell/Wesleyan/Middlebury (Ranked 11) opens more doors than Michigan, I don't know what you are smoking! I don't know much about Florida (it was a safety for my '21 kid), what it is good at, nor why it's ranked as highly as it is.

It depends on the student

And it depends on the slac

If you are a minority, I would recommend haverford and swat type schools over Michigan/fl

If you are a umc white kid that looks/acts the part, then your returns won’t vary

They both will open up doors. But costwise - Florida (even with OOS tuition) will be substantially cheaper.

I’m not sure it’s really possible to answer a question like this definitively. Both options can open doors and there are many different factors that going to that (sometimes even including dumb luck or chance).
