What is a decent number? Are you looking for percentages or actual number?

Good Counsel is coed but has a large 1st and 2nd Gen African population.

I dont know exact numbers, but based on your criteria, I would look into Seton.

This is a pretty good list of girls schools in the DMV area.

They will all have African students but you won’t get to higher numbers (like half) unless it’s a school in PG county for example (eg, seton).

You’re going to find African American in PG, not African.

Not true. You will find both.

This 👆🏼. Also, the schools that sometimes appeal to African Americans don’t also appeal to African families. African American families seem to love Maret but not so much for African families, which tend to like schools with more structure, rigidity and also religious schools. African American families tend to prefer Stone Ridge over Visi which is the opposite for African families who tend to choose Visi over Stone Ridge.

This is OP. We are in a K-8 now with a good representation of African students but we are the first in the group to apply out to high school. I don’t have much of a connection with the surrounding African community so thought posting here might give me some direction. Note - I am not concerned re: whether the overall Black population is significant - just specifically African enrollment.

I mean, there are not that many all girls Catholic schools in this area - I'd make the shortlist and then call around.

If you/your child is African, can you ask around your friends and community where they go?

1st or 2nd generation is fine. Thanks.
