I’ve only been to Charleston once and it was in the summer. To say it was a little hot and humid would be an understatement. Give me Bar Harbor, every time. I also think Bar Harbor and the Maine coast is just more enjoyable IMHO.

They are nothing alike, at all, in any capacity besides being near water. If he likes bar harbor I would at a minimum think the heat and humidity in Charleston would be an issue.

I think they do have similarities in the architecture and quaint, if touristy, vibe. Charleston has much better restaurants.
