Me, again.

I use a small scrunchy and just wind my hair into a small bun on top of my head. The scrunchy holds my hair in place better than a ponytail holder, since it's not a lot of hair.

Some good ideas. I have this issue too. As does my mom and as did my grandmother! We all have the same cowlick type thing. As a PP said, sometimes I have issues with it even on wash days. Mine is like my part continues down the top 1/3 of the back of my head. My hair is fine, but fairly abundant; however I have a short bob. My hairdresser said since I have the short bob and fine hair, it doesn’t have enough weight to keep it where I want to. I think the hot brush idea could work, or I guess just wetting that area and styling however.

Do you have a hot brush? My hair has some wave to it, but day 2, I use a hot brush to smooth out the overnight crazies. One of the good things I learned about here!

Or if I need to look extra polished I use a flat iron.

You might also want to just get a bottle that sprays water in a fine mist. Then you can just gently wet the hair you need to adjust.

It happens because hormones change (my dd with pin straight hair turned curly in puberty)

I know this advice appears on here a lot, but it seems to apply in this case. Have you tried a silk pillowcase? It really does seem to help with bedhead and might buy you an extra day without washing.

OP what style is your hair in? You referred to a ponytail, so I assume it's longer? Maybe you need to talk to your stylist and have them cut it into a style that will work better?

I don’t know but the hairstylist who pointed it out to me said it’s very common.

It’s just barely long enough for a ponytail and I have a good curly cut now. I just sleep hard on the back of my head I guess.

Have you considered sleeping with your hair loosely secured on top? Pineappled.

I spritz that flat sleeping spot with water and scrunch in some of Aveda’s curl prep and use a diffuser to dry.

Personally, I would just wash most days and let it almost dry before blow-drying. I can’t believe I spent so many years blow drying a near soaking wet head. I am not sure if you mean that center part in the back of your head. I have it even with clean hair in the morning. I saw a youtube tutorial wear she flat ironed the pieces and did a lot of teasing and spraying. I can manage the teasing and spraying part.
