(It's probably still good. There might be a sugar bloom on it, which could affect taste or texture, in which case you melt it for yummy hot choc. And obviously it was an oversight on your friend's part.)

We exchange presents for the holidays. Some expired in 2022 and some in early 2023. I wouldn’t have known except I was about to open one of them and saw it was expired. Then, I saw all of the chocolates were old.

What is a "2023-2023" expiration date? It's usually something like "BB 02142023" (feb.14 2023).
