Yeah, he was at the cardiologist for the stress test. The results were normal. I’m hoping he will listen to the cardiologist’s advice about exercise. But yeah, it is common sense and DH is not stupid. His family makes poor lifestyle choices and he’s seen the consequences, but he is not motivated enough.

He told the doctor that exercise makes his chest hurt and the doctor told him the same thing I’ve been saying for years- that exercise will improve his hypertension, which will reduce his chest pain. I’m annoyed that the PCP never counseled him on lifestyle modifications, but not surprised considering how rushed those appointments were.
How do you know that? That's hard to believe. Every PCP talks about diet/exercise during visits
DH told me the PCP didn’t mention lifestyle changes. Just adjusted his medications. I doubt he was lying since he seemed so surprised by the cardiologist’s advice.
I force DH to go for easy hikes with me on the weekend, and he says that doesn’t cause chest pain. But he refuses to walk midweek because he thinks they aren’t helpful. I’ve told him that something is better than nothing, but he won’t listen to me.
