Are you really an attorney or just play one on TV!

What’s mote important? Being a mom, money, etc. if your passion is litigation, maybe this is not it. I’m sure salary is decent.

This is a government job. Better work life balance.

Will you need to travel to any of the prisons? Any telework allowed?

I knew someone at BOP who did employment admin litigation. He loved it but had to travel a lot to the various prisons for hearings and witness prep, etc.

He eventually decided to downshift to another agency and a job with no travel so that he could be around at home more to help with childcare.

I am OP: I guess I have to explain the question a little more. Does anyone have any insight on whether BOP (Bureau of Prisons) would be a good place to work as a lawyers? It seems like the hours aren’t too bad and I do think the mission is important (broadly). I understand the job is defending BOP administrative decisions through admin processes and where relevant in court (as a SAUSA). I am a litigator and haven’t done anything but litigation my whole career. Any thoughts?

Huh? Are you really an attorney, cause I’d be scared. You said nothing coherent. What’s your question?

What do you think about this job? I like litigation and since I was a DA I understand that having criminal law means you have to have prisons.

At the interview while walking back to the elevator I asked if there was a childcare center in or near their building. Interviewer said — no but I leave 4:30 daily to pick-up my kid at preschool near my house. Enough said.
