OP, I think you asked this question a few weeks ago about the same list of schools.

Why not wait a few weeks and ask when the choices are narrowed?

If your kid wants to live in the South, then pick a Southern school.

Kelley is huge. 10,000+ students. Is that normal for an undergrad business program?

Not sure. Indiana has an 82% acceptance rate. UGA was 25% OOS.


UGA has a stronger overall reputation than IU, and Terry is very well respected. IU may have higher rankings, but the right student will have good (or bad) outcomes at either place. UGA has better football. IU has marginally better basketball. Both great college towns, and UGA definitely wins for weather.

Good luck getting into Texas! Let’s put it this way: Michigan is a better bet. Those schools aside, it seems silly to pick one over another for “ranking” reasons. Go where you will be happiest.

Doesn't the answer to this depend on whether there is direct admit to the business school? If there isn't, you should go to the best overall school.

Agree it is really important to know which companies recruit where as PP said. If your kid has some idea of what he/she wants to do.

The way to decide this OP is to look at the companies that recruit on campus. Walmart will recruit from many. McKinsey and Bain will not. Depends on the goals - ie get a job or get a job in IB/Consulting

Is it better to go somewhere with a top 10 ranked undergraduate business program but lower ranked overall school (Kelley @ IU) or a slightly lower ranked business program at a higher ranked school (UMD, Wisconsin, Georgia, etc.)?
