Fairfax County wants every bit of snow to have melted before they open fields, so some may open before others but I would not expect any to open before Friday. The rain tomorrow will probably play a big role in getting rid of the remaining snow.

I agree grass fields will be sopping wet even if the snow melts. But I’m really hoping the artificial turf fields can reopen. Our yard has spots with bare grass and others with probably 2 inches remaining so I’m guessing we might have to wait for tomorrow.

Natural grass Field will not be open today. They are completely completely saturated now that snow has melted.

Well, yes -- there are wide open areas in my neighborhood that are now snow-free. It's the yards with trees etc where the snow isn't gone.
So wide open soccer fields -- Hmmmm. Maybe that's why the question was asked. But that's for your help!

Most counties don't make their assessments until the afternoon, unless it's very obvious that they will be closed.

We're in MoCo but haven't practiced since the week before the snow (due to cold, then snow).

This week our coach reserved an indoor facility.

Two things, first they do not clear snow from fields because it ruins them, this is for both artificial and natural fields. Look around your neighborhood are all the yards “clear”? Secondly, they haven’t been announcing cancellations until about two or 3 PM each day. They are taking it day by day.

I would guess no practice today (Wednesday), but fields will be clear by tomorrow.

MYS and ASA both cancelled practices today because of snow covered fields. More melting tomorrow but not sure if it will be enough.
