OP, we could have guessed you would get responses like this.

The “kind, thoughtful, and intelligent” MoCo representative above doesn’t want to hear differing viewpoints.

You aren’t alone, OP. There are many of us frustrated and upset with MoCo leadership.

I'm a working stiff. I have never been involved in politics. I have never been joined any advocacy groups or PACs. I have been a life long Independent with the exception of 2 years between 2020-2022 when I registered team Dem in the hope that I might make a difference in local elections. I did not and I switched back to Independent status.

That said, I am absolutely desperate for a change in "leadership" in Montgomery County. Between the sad debacle that has become MCPS, the jaw kicking tax increases, the outright endorsement of hate and antisemitism of CASA, rising crime and utter lawlessness as exemplified by this:

https://www.fox5dc.com/news/montgomery-county-police-seek-solutions-for-reckless-car-meet-ups

I can not sit by the curb no longer.

Someone please point me in the direction of some group that can break the grip of the screaming blue messiahs that have overtaken every single aspect of Montgomery County governance. I understand that general apathy is the main culprit for this current situation. Most people don't vote and/or are completely ignorant of local politicians. This is how the lycra mafia gets their way and they aim to keep it this way.

I saw a glimmer of hope when crowds protested against the school board this past summer. Maybe, just maybe, if some smart, deft people could tap into that frustration and organize the disenfranchised, along with the apathetic, then real change could be possible.

So anyone out there got a name of someone or some group that I can meet up with to initiate a mission impossible and turn the County Council upside down?

I wish I could start with Adam Pagnucco, but he seems to be firmly seated on the sidelines out of frustration. If you haven't seen his blog, you should:

I shiver to think how bad things can become if the County keeps trending in this direction.

Some guy was doing donuts at Western and Wisconsin in Friendship Heights a few weekend nights ago, and then them and another two cars launched (street race) down Wisc. going north, then a few minutes later I guess had turned around cause they came speeding by on Wisc. in DC. They're crossing "state" borders doing crimes. I mean, these are dumb easy to prosecute, right?

Cops chase in other cities. Here's an ATL one from a few months ago. Note that the appearance of the cop did result in the Truck's driver trying to flee and he ran over people. But that happens in these types of events all too frequently even without the police because the drivers are unexperienced idiots play acting out car commericals.

The insane will never find peace anywhere.

But I’d love for you to just leave.

You need to start by accepting that people have different opinions and experiences than you without being the "lycra Mafia." I'm very happy with MCPS. We love our school and our kid gets a good education there. Our property taxes are reasonable, and I'm not getting bent out of shape over a few hundred dollars per year. Lots of feel this way and have zero interest in joining your crusade.

I mean, if you are writing such a long cry for help...I agree with others...just move.

You will have to concede that 7 of the top 10 HSs in the entire state of MD are in MoCo.

The scumbag Elrich knows his sheep well and included a pic of his ugly mug wearing a mask with every newsletter well into 2023. I still see MD idiots wearing them alone in cars.

PLEASE MOVE.
You are a self centered horrible human

My friend wears a mask because her 21 year old has cancer
My mother wears a mask because she watches my immune compromised niece who has a special form of childhood cancer, whose doctor asked all family to wear one while covid is now surging.

You have no idea why someone is wearing a mask.

Stop showing the world what a dumbass you are.

If you are that freaked out by things (CASA didn’t endorse hate and I have no idea what the lycra mafia is) you are probably out of step with the county’s politics.
