Several times over 25 years. Few times because I made no money, like $6 an hour max. Few times because boss was a crazy drunk. Several times from three different places, but sometimes with notice. I get hired back a lot. Never been let go because of performance.
Can get hired the next day, so it's really not a problem.
The only regret is that I should have moved on faster than I did and not go back to most places.

I have more money than you.

Someone else is in charge of paying the mortgage, that's why they do it.

OP here. I actually don’t have a mortgage.

That’s amazing you don’t have any life expenses and can take the comment literally.

So you have enough money to retire and never work again? That’s fine too.

Did you pay off your mortgage alone?

Try to take some vacation instead. Spend it shoring up your resume and applying to jobs.

You will have a MUCH easier time finding a job while employed. I'd just focus on hunting. If you get an offer you can maybe take a bit of a break in between. Quitting without a job is really shooting yourself in the foot. It could be a long time before you are hired and you won't be available for unemployment.

I am considering it. I am dealing with a horrible new boss and hate working for them. The stress is impacting my health and family. Some things just aren’t worth it. In the end if I can’t find something else I will walk away before long. We have two incomes and some equity in our house. We will survive until I find another thing.

I quit a very stressful job before starting to explore new career opportunities because I considered myself super marketable (CPA, mid-30s). After I started applying, it took me 1 week to receive an offer for a job that paid more and was much more enjoyable.

If you’ve quit a job before you had a new one can you tell me about it. What made you quit? Do you regret it? How long did it take you to find something new?
