40 - ugh. Went out with friends and my husband, wound up getting drunk and they took me to a strip club and got me lap dances. Not a good look.
(Year later, DH turned 40, I had a newborn at home and he was in Vegas.)

50 - we had just moved and husband flew my best friend in as a surprise, despite new friends asking him if they could throw me a surprise party. He told them he had my birthday covered. Visit with friend was awesome but it would have been nice to have a party too!
(Year later, DH turned 50, had both a party and guys weekend playing golf).

60 is 5 years away. I'll be planning something for myself!

40 was that same year as our 10 year wedding anniversary so we went away on our first and only kid free vacation.

My BFFs and I all turn 50 this year. We’re headed to Cancun next week for ladies trip, all inclusive and relaxation. For my actual 50th which is in September, I want my husband to get a taco truck for a small party and hire a mariachi band to sing to me.

40th - went to a winery with friends, and on a trip to St John with my husband while our kids were at sleepaway camp (it was also our 15th wedding anniversary right before my bday).

I’m 42. My husband is turning 50 at the end of this year and he says he wants to take a family trip but it’s still TBD. For his 40th I was 8 months pregnant with baby #3 and we took a weekend trip to Charlottesville while my parents watched the other 2.
