The math curriculum is the same in Advanced Math and the LIV classroom. Some schools have Advanced Math classes, some schools send kids to the LIV or LLIV class for just math. If the OPs kid is checked off as being above grade level in 5th grade then they are most likely doing grade 6 math. The only way to be sure is to ask the Teacher.

Parents are supposed to sign off on a child being in Advanced Math or moved to the LIV class for math but I know plenty of parents who are surprised to find out their kid is in Advanced Math. I had one friend who said that they had chosen to defer LIV and the like and the Teachers sent her kid to the Advanced Math class because the kid was bored in the regular class. The Teachers waited a few weeks, called my friend in for a conference, and said that the kid was engaged and less distracted in the Advanced Math class. I have a few friends who ended up forgetting they signed the paper work.

There is a separate class for Advanced Math in 5th grade because the kids in that class are learning 6th grade math. Kids who are on grade level are in one class. Kids who are in Advanced Math are in another class. LIII Pull outs are not math specific.

Email the school AART and ask. If DC is identified on report card as advanced for math, maybe someone dropped the ball and they should be going into AAP classroom for math.

That typically means AAP math. Are they going into AAP classroom for math?

AAP is above grade level. That's what you signed up for.

If your DC is in advanced math, one of the parents had to have approved placement in advanced math at the beginning of the year. Maybe you gave approval thinking it was for something else, or maybe the other parent gave the approval?

Your child’s teacher should be able to explain.
