I had an issue when going to & Pizza to their first location outside of DC. They were charging 10% sales tax (that's correct tax... in DC), not 6% they should charge in MoCo. The manager refunded the difference and said they'd fix it.

Of course they said that. If they get caught charging the wrong sales tax then there are serious consequences. If they charge 10% sales tax in MoCo and remit 6%, then they are committing a crime

+1

That is a whopper of an oversight. Charging the wrong tax. I’m sure you’re not the first person to have caught it either. When was this?

You better hope they cycle through drivers fast. I drove for a pizza place in high school and did not receive a penny from the delivery fee. If a house stiffed on tips, they were going to be the last house on a delivery run with guaranteed cheese slide

Delivery fee should be deducted from the tip. It's just there to make sure the driver doesn't get stiffed.

Cheaper to get frozen pizza from Wegmans. They have a good in house brand and no sales tax as it's food.

OP didn’t say where they are—that could be the correct sales tax. Some jurisdictions have a takeout tax that’s higher than the regular sales tax.

Get off your lazy butt and go get the pizzas instead of delivery and you’ll save $10.

Showed up in the bill...

Yes, a lesson learned on driving and getting it next time.

They don't get to decide on sales tax on their own.

I had an issue when going to & Pizza to their first location outside of DC. They were charging 10% sales tax (that's correct tax... in DC), not 6% they should charge in MoCo. The manager refunded the difference and said they'd fix it.

2 regular pizzas $22.50
Delivery fee $5
They put sales tax as 9%...really?
Tip additional 15%
The extras come to equivalent of buying one more pizza. It's crazy to order two 11 inches pizza for $36 in all.

What do you all do for saving some money? Coupons?
