I noticed one of the gas stations on 123 right outside Tysons Corner advertises that they have used tires. This isn’t just a thing in poorer areas.

OP if this helps it’s the Mobil between International Drive and Tysons Blvd.

Manassas. I had to drive their last weekend for my kids game, and joked with my wife that we passed liked 4-5 places that had signs saying New & Used tires - because I had no idea that many people bought used tires.

The only tire from Walmart for $50 is a boat trailer tire.

Check out tire places in not-fancy areas. That's where I see used tires where I am (not local). You could Google a few and then call, ask if they know where to get them if they don't sell them.

Hubcap Heaven in Hyattsville, there’s a used tire shop off Bladensburg Rd NE near Trinidad, there’s a few in Alexandria, a bunch in PG. Langley Park has several too. There’s lots of used tires places.

Anonymous wrote:Yeah, why not just repair your tire or the spare. Also, who do you think would install a used tire? Normally tire shops install new tires only.

Used tire shops install used tires on used wheels all the time. It’s literally what they do

Hard as it must be for you to believe, there ARE things out there that you don’t know of or understand. When you feel the need to sound like a smarmy dick, stick to things you understand.

OP here: tire has low tread, cracked, and had a slow leak for a long time. If I get the car back on road, the tire would probably fail inspection even if I could repair. Spare has the same issues. If fact, spare was originally installed and I changed out in the summer for same reasons.

Looks like no one buys used tires. That's ok.

There's no way to fix the existing one such that it's pushable?

Anyone buy them recently in N.Va ? I need one tire for an old '07 highlander that I am just trying to get out my garage. (Doesn't start and I need to push it) Spare will not inflate. Not sure yet what I will do w/car, so don't want to spend for a new one.
