Also for the UVA, maybe Im wrong but assumed if we didn’t get into UMD, prob not in UVA and I think their tuition OOS is out of our price range. These are just my assumptions though.

Those stats won’t get him in Penn State or Purdue much less as safeties. UVA is completely off the table.

Neither is a safety, nor Purdue.

UConn, UMass, and UVM have all impressed us for different reasons.

Lots of kids who are borderline for UMD seem to wind up at Delaware and Penn State.

Some of the SUNY schools would be worth considering. Binghamton or Stony Brook come to mind as comparable to UMD. Great price point even for OOS students!

Look to the Midwest:
Michigan State
Minnesota
Iowa
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
Indiana (not sure about merit there)

DS is targeting UMD but it is a borderline reach. What large publics hVe you visited that impressed you or would be similar? He us not interested in the south and UC schools would be off the table as safeties. Unsure of major so the large school with everything is appealing. Also hoping for merit to make coa similar to in-state.

Some on our radar but haven’t visited: UMN, UDelaware, Purdue…others??
