My 8.5 year old DD is 50 inches tall and 57 pounds. I don’t understand the issue. She has some friends who are taller and some who are shorter. It’s not been a problem.

My 18 year old is 58 inches and 78 lbs. While aware she is petite compared to many around her, she gets that is just how she is. If all else checks out healthy make sure her mindset is healthy about it.

OP this is your problem.
You are literally making a mountain out of nothing.
Stop.
Get some parenting classes.
Your kid now has a complex that you made.

My DS at 10 (don't have figures for 9):
66.8 lbs
53.5 in

My DD at 9:
57.4 lbs
51.5 in

My DS at 18:
165 lbs
5'10.5"
.. still growing

My DD at 15:
105lbs
5'5.5"
.. still growing

Tall DH, super short mom (me, like 5').

All of us late bloomers. They (and I) were teased for being short all throughout ES/MS and freshman year in HS. DS hit his growth spurt sophomore/junior year in HS; DD hit it freshman year in HS.

We always assumed DS would be short, so we told him to not focus on things he can't control (other than eating right, exercising, etc.), and to focus on the things he can control, a good student, athlete (if that's what he wanted), person, hobbies.

People grow at different rates. You can’t compare yourself to others. She is well within normal for her age, show her the growth chart.

Who cares? I love being petite. It’s part of me. I’ll never be tall and graceful but small and cute? Yes. Why would she be upset about being short? Lots of successful women are short.

Different people are different sizes. And make shorter friends

My turning-9-next-month is only 50” and probably less than 50 lbs.

What can you do? It is what it is. The worse is going to amusement parks.

What percentile is she? That doesn’t sound that small. Under 50th percentile probably, but still seems like it would be well on the growth chart and within normal

She's still growing right? There's a normal growth curve? It's fine

9 year old daughter is 54” and 62 pounds. She is feeling really down on herself because all of her friends are so much bigger than her. Her own sister (19 months younger) is only 2” shorter and 4 pounds lighter than her. Her brother is 3 years old and 45” and 45 pounds.

What can I say to help her? She actually eats the best out of my 3 kids. I just think genetics aren’t on her side. She takes after the women on DHs side and they are all very short. DH is 5’10” and I am 5’7”. The other two kids take after my side of the family height wise and will most likely be much taller than oldest child.
