Yes this is correct, no electives or study hall unless they take summer school. On their "home" school day they only have 4 blocks and they have to take English, History, Foreign Language, and PE (through 10th grade.) Then in 11th they have to take Econ & Personal Finance. In 12th grade they would have one extra block.

This is true. Many of my students who did academies did online PE the summer before 10th grade. They also often lose a study hall block.

Rising 9th for next year DD keeps hearing that all of her electives will be gone if she gets into/accepts the Academies. Is this true? Can she take PE or any other classes over the summer to get more electives? Will foreign language classes be affected?
