+1 I'll add that as a parent of a single, 5 year old child, the idea that OP *knows* that all these parents are one and done by choice is idiotic. No one is going to share with someone as nasty and judgmental as OP that they are facing secondary infertility.

What about the one and done not by choice families? Do we get to complain? What about all of the 2-3 kid families that were complaining on social media yesterday? Do they get to complain because they had the right number of kids according to you?

My only child loves a lazy day at home, but playing in the snow is just more fun with another kid. Luckily our friends and neighbors aren't so judgmental and she had a lovely day meeting up with friends to go sledding, then playing outside with the neighbors. Sometimes we even swap hosting with friends so we take their kids for half the day and they take mine for the other half.

I have two kids and they drive me crazy on snow days. I don’t know why you’re getting upset at the mere suggestion of a play date. Do you have a specific person trying to send a kid to your house unsolicited?

I have two kids who constantly fight with each other. If Im WFH, I"m happy to have other children over to occupy my kids. As long as they arent the overly positively-parented types who disrespect me and my house rules.

Lol in my group of friends it is definitely the parents of multiples who are being driven crazy by their kids on snow days when they are trying to work! I have two kids but we usually have a friend or two over on no school days. That's part of the fun! At least that's how I grew up

Uh, I guess you have a friend who does this? Just tell her no and move on with your life. Are you mad she asks for a playdate? Why?

We have an only child but I work a flexible part time schedule to help accommodate stuff like random days of school, sick days, etc. I have never viewed my friends with kids as potential childcare solutions. In fact, the one time we've done playdates like you describe (where the obvious goal of the playdate is to occupy kids so parents can work on random days off school) it was initiated by the other family who had multiple kids (their youngest was in daycare and didn't need childcare, so they needed a way to occupy their school-age child). It actually felt like a burden for us because our kid is pretty chill and doesn't need a lot of entertaining but their kid required a lot more supervision and attention, so it was a bit uneven. But we did it because the kids liked it and because I didn't mind helping out a friend now and then.

I know many families with one child, and none of them expect this. Beyond asking about play dates occasionally, which they offer to host, they don’t push or invite any more than other parents.

The only pushy family I know has three kids and is constantly trying to dump kids on other people. I’m not saying all families of 3+ are like this, I’m just saying I think pushy people are pushy and it has nothing to do with how many kids they have.
