I've shot guns at ranges. It is stupidly boring. Hunting with a gun is also pathetic and takes not skill. Try using a bow.
There is virtually zero reason for any civilian to need something as powerful as an AR-15, which I shot at the range. It is a weapon of war. And yes, I already know most gun deaths are caused by handguns and not rifles like AR-15. Moot point.

Those are not services by guns. If someone does bad things with guns they are charged and prosecuted under our laws. Guns are inanimate objects and do not do those things by themselves. People who break laws do those things, sometimes with guns.
Fantastic.
Ban all ammo, making ammo, etc. and let those guns be truly inanimate.

There's nothing you can do, which is why you must consider moving abroad and leaving the country altogether. The US is Brazil. A second tier country with tons of violence and crime. It's up to you to determine whether slightly bigger salaries are worth the risk of getting shot while simply driving, going to the grocery store, going to church or going to school.
Americans are entirely a hopeless, dimwitted bunch. They can see the problem right in front of them but do nothing about it. School shooting victims are the US' American Holocaust.

I don't think it's possible to make meaningful restrictions on guns other than at the point of sale.
And even then, it'll be hundreds of years before we make a dent in the murder or suicide rate.
It appears that in the US, the most direct route to increasing gun safety is harsh penalties for gun violence (including brandishing a gun in the commission of a crime) and increasing police presence and physical security at places like schools and venues. I don't see gun control as a serious, realistic proposal to reduce those things.

Yes I think we are stuck. More guns than people, ghost guns and inadequate controls for registered guns let alone rogue guns.
