Because he or she is right. Some Bethesda resident's view out their window isn't a critical review of the road conditions.

DCUM posters give their thoughts on all kinds of topics and concerns. Hearing from others about what they might have encountered while driving can be very helpful to others making plans for the day.

In this case, you don't have to trust the unreliable narrator though.

I was surprised it was so icy. From NBC4’s 6 pm weather forecast last night it sounded like we would have barely a flurry overnight and then no more snow till around 7 pm tonight. Now it’s going to start snowing again early afternoon.

Four Corners ok. But you can’t tell if there’s black ice so these are the driving conditions I hate. Some a$$hole in a Lexus just zoomed up Colesville. Idiot.

OP here. Just got back from a Giant run. Passable but slick. Police have parts of Piney Branch closed off.

I haven’t been out. But news 4 is reporting slick roads and accidents on East West Highway and Connecticut Avenue. I’m going to have to drive my kid to work later but considering dropping at a bus stop instead of driving the whole way.
