You are losing a lot of daycare days. Not necessary.

So far this year we have lost 1 daycare day. We'll be ok but thanks for your concern.

Moco did good, Friday was a big snow day and at 9am roads and sidewalks were not clean

Our daycare was open every day, they do not follow the county's schedule and closings

Same. So I’m rather annoyed that MCPS already called it for the offices tomorrow.

Ours follows DCPS.

We folllow DCPS. If we didn’t, no staff would show up when DCPS was closed anyway.

In MoCo our daycare center follows the MCPS office call. So if schools are closed but offices are open, our center is open.

Mine follows OPM for delayed opening, early closing, and closed outright for the day.

Our in-home daycare stays open. I expect if it was REALLY bad, they might just close because no kids would show anyway, but they don't close for days like today. Some of the centers near us follow DCPS though.

Mine follows OPM, which usually aligns with DCPS. They’re in a federal building so this makes sense (and made it easy when I worked for the feds; less so now that I have an industry job).

I'm a mom and a family daycare provider. We still open on inclemented weather (snow, heavy wind, heavy rain) now weather events are more extreme because of climate change.

But parents should always be careful. I understand they still need to go work in those weather conditions.

I own a childcare center and we generally follow our school district closures. We have tried various approaches but following the school district really seems to provide the best predictability for everyone and so many of our teachers have a long commute so its not just what we are seeing at the center location that effects our ability to open the center. If its a totally ridiculous call we may depart from the what the district does and stay open but it has to be a really clear call to do that. Hope this helps.

If your child goes to full time daycare in DC,what's your daycare's snow day/bad weather policy? Mine follows dcps. I'm trying to see if that's the norm.
