Good luck! Every time I open the back of our Tucson I’m shocked by how much space it has. I don’t know your families needs, but the newer models may have more space?

Oddly we felt the Santa Fe (the mid-sized SUV) was the least comfortable for the family.

The Tucson is surprisingly spacious considering it is Hyundais smallest SUV. I think he may have more legroom in the Tucson than the palisade.

In the last few years we bought Hyundais from college park Hyundai and old town Hyundai and I don’t think either do markups over MSRP even though we were looking for cars that are very hard to get your hands on (palisade calligraphy and the plug in Tucson)

OP here. This is actually extremely helpful and I have been looking at Palisade. Funnily enough, we have rented many Tucsons when on vacation and you are right that they have so much space! Not enough cargo area for our main car, but for vacation they are perfect.

My DH is 6’5” and behind him in our Forester is tight.

Long legs are a problem in most cars. Our Odyssey is great for this, but my kids are still young.

My sister has a tall family. They have a Subaru Ascent (or whatever the big Subaru is called).

Is this when the sit in front of him is in the position of someone equally tall? The problem is specifically who has to sit behind my husband.

We were looking at mid-price, mid-size SUVs and we had one of us at least “test” the second row of easily 7-8 makes/models specifically for this.
We’ve had it for four years and love it. It is a wide car, though - mentioning due to uour garage comment.

OP here. Thanks. Keep forgetting about this one.

I typically sit behind my husband on long trips. I am the shortest person in the house at 5’6”.

TLDR: What car do you have if your spouse/children/you are tall? Particularly our issue is sitting behind my DH when he is driving.

We've had two consecutive Honda Odysseys and they have been great. DH is 6'4" tall and does the bulk of our road trip driving even though its my daily car. Our two teen DDs are now taller than me (they are both 5'7" but with long legs.) They used to be fine riding in DH's midsize sedan but now don't like to sit behind the driver seat because he has to sit so far back and their legs don't have enough room. They complain about who has to sit behind him so we don't ever take that car all 4 of us any more.

The new Odyssey and new Sienna are too wide for our single size garage door. Same issue with Suburban/Expedition, plus just too large and pricey for us. Kia Carnival minivan will fit and is nice but exterior styling is a bit odd to me (I guess I can get over this.) The Chrysler van will also fit but I'm concerned about long term quality and reliability. The top rated SUVs for second row legroom are Telluride and Palisade, but both still seem to be getting dealer markups. We keep pumping money into our 10 year old minivan to kick the can down the road, but I'm sort of at a loss for what's next.

At the end of the day, I just need 4 really comfortable seats for tall people and a car that will fit in my garage.
