not necessarily "fancy" but Drowsy Water Ranch in CO has adult only weeks in September.

I bet there's something nice and rejuvenating in THailand or Indonesia, google those places.

I treated myself to a mid-range safari in Kenya and Tanzania when I was in my mid-30s, pre-DH and child, and ending a month of work in Nairobi. I was the only solo person in the group and it was awkward. If I hadn’t already been on the continent (and didn’t have my then serious boyfriend to go home to) it might have been sort of depressing. I’d definitely look at a women’s tour group. We are looking at the 320 guest ranch in Montana for a stop when we visit national parks. I wonder about that or something similar.

Sounds great! There is a site that specializes in trips for women traveling solo. I can't remember the name but I'm sure you can find it quickly with a search.

I'm turning 50 this year too. I'm contemplating a solo trip to London, Paris, or Rome. I've been to all before but always with family and I love the idea of being able to do whatever I want for a week!

I'm turning 50 this year, and have been toying with the idea of doing some kind of solo women's retreat/adventure. I love horses, and would be thrilled with anything that involves them and other animals, nature, and beautiful countryside. Not a yogi, so that is off the table. I know there must be tons of things like this out there--have you done anything you'd recommend?
