I contacted them about a refund and they told me I need to mail back the damaged product. It was a mess. I just sucked it up and took the loss rather than package up some busted Dawn dish soap bottles. More than once, I’ve had a two-pack or set of items arrive with parts missing. Amazon used to say “just keep it and we’ll send you the right item.” Now they want the product with missing parts back. It’s fine, I’ll send it back, but I worry often that I won’t get a refund because they’ll assume I’m lying about the missing item. Point it, Amazon is not longer easy and chill about returns, probably due to abuse by “influencers” and other people who took advantage. I try to buy as little there as possible these days.

Good post.
I ordered powdered Baby Oxyclean detergent from Amazon and they sent the container (with flexible plastic lid) in a floppy white plastic sack instead of a box. The lid does not have a pull seal or an internal film across the package. So the lid came off and it all spilled into the bag. The refund policy was same for damaged items...ship it back. Yeah, right!
Since I can't find this product locally, I salvaged what I could from the plastic sack by pouring it back into the original container. I only lost about 10%.
This, and another experience involving a cracked cap on a 1 gallon (industrial-size) bottle of hand soap, has made me much more cautious about ordering chemical products from Amazon.
