They look much better after they’ve been worn for a while. You really realize any benefits if you wear them regularly and if you wear them for years. If you only wear your jeans once in a while and you get rid of them after a year or so to switch to a more current style, those are not for you.

I don't love them for myself (and I repeatedly pay a lot for jeans) but DH likes them. They look dressier. His at least.

Denim junkies swear by it, but reading up more about it, it seems like you pay exorbitant prices for a big PITA. First, I read that dyes in these types of jeans can run and rub all over other clothing and furniture. Some people say never wash, but if you do wash, they need to be done separately because so much dye leeches out. They also are almost always made with button flies, which suck.

So what am I missing about selvedge denim. What’s worth the $200-300 price tag per jeans for these?
