I live in SoCal but suggest you ask for a referral from a physical therapy group. Plan on a small boutique gym and look for trainers with fitness adjacent degrees- now is not the time for the 20 year old working at a big box gym. Prepare to spend $90-100 per hour.

^ Also, a 3 month contract is fine but try and do month to month after that - avoid pressure to sign annual contract in case gym is not a good fit. I keep my cheap gym membership for cardio and do weight training once a week at a boutique gym. I do not let them waste time with nutrition consults or powder pushing- think flexibility, mobility and strength. They rack your weights 😁

Older woman here who has never really been into exercise. But I am about to retire, and would appreciate recommendations for a trainer who would help me retain strength and function.

I live in North Bethesda. Thanks!
