Mary Karr too. Liar's Club and Lit are good books.

David Sedaris, particularly earlier things like Me Talk Pretty One Day.

For fiction, if you like Franzen you'd probably like Richard Ford. And Donna Tartt - The Goldfinch.

The Foldfinch - I’ve seen the movie and I loved it. I’ll check out the rest, thank you!

Nonfiction, but everyone I know who has read Bad Blood absolutely could not put it down

OP here, thank you for your suggestions!
The Corrections was my favorite, probably because of the theme of parents getting old (and weird!)

Michael Chabon

Enjoy Franzen (read Freedom in one night before kids) and love Lewis and Chabon is the top of my pantheon.

Antithesis of their style, but I also like Hemingway.

Long story short, I’ve been reading very little for the past 13 or so years but I am slowly coming back to my reading habits.
It’s hard to figure out what I like and what I don’t like anymore, but I’ve read half of Franzen’s books and also recently enjoyed Going Infinite by Michael Lewis.
Besides other books by the same two authors what else should I give a try?
Thank you!
