you have to either have commercial insurance or get your dr to do a prior authorization.

I just increased to 7.5 two weeks ago and I am still not feeling the lack of food cravings that most people are describing. It's disappointing, but I know the next dosage level may work.

My doc said some are super responders to it and the weight falls off really quickly. Those are also the people who have significant side effects, which keeps the user on the straight and narrow…can’t eat if you have nausea, diarrhea, reflux, heartburn, no appetite, food aversions, etc.

That’s not me. I have a tiny bit of redness and itchiness at the injection site for a day or so. Nothing else. So 95% of it is me and really trying to make better choices. I don’t snack now- not because I can’t or don’t want to, but simply because the medication is expensive and I’m trying to see progress. Almost all of the time that I’m on it, I could eat meaning that part of it never shut off for me. Those people who say the food noises gone, I wouldn’t say that Food is calling me like it did before, but I will say that I could definitely snack and eat pretty much like I did before, but I’m focused on not doing so. I agree with what somebody said above about weight fluctuating. I’ve Lost between one to 2 pounds a week on average but some weeks it’s none, and some weeks it’s a gain. Currently down 26 lbs…in 13 weeks.

Overall down about 14 pounds in 6 weeks with very little side effect (like a slightly sour stomach for a few hours 1-2 times a week). These drugs are life changing and miraculous. I have gone up and down, counted every calorie that I have taken in, or worked out, for more than 10 years to the point of exhaustion. If you are on the fence with these drugs and have gone through the battle, you should give it a try. A huge weight lifted from my shoulders.

Did you even read OP’s post?

I have lost 30 pounds on the 2.5 dose. Tried to move up to 5 mg but I literally could not eat for the 3-4 days after the injection.

To answer your question, I lost some initially on 2.5 but am in a better pattern at 7.5.

To not answer your question, I think you need to temper your expectations somewhat. My doc recommended about a pound a week. That's just 4 points per month! The trick is that you keep going and and going. 30 week=30 pounds.

Also, you won't lose it steadily. I go up and down about 4 pounds over the course of a month, and then notice that my 'average' on a daily basis has stepped down. This is from water retention, the fact that I'm a little bit constipated, and the fact that 7.5 tends to reduce my appetite the first part of a week and less so, the second. I like it that way, though. It's not that my appetite skyrockets at the end of the week. It's that I have enough appetite to eat a normal, healthy number of calories (whereas at the beginning of the week I skip meals without noticing).

Many insurances will cover (or partially cover) weight loss drugs if you are obese or have weight related medical issues.

Following. I was on a similar med, and it was good; I lost 23 pounds over six months, so slow and steady, with decent appetite suppression as I moved up.

I switched insurance during open season and got covered for Zepbound, starting at 5.0; appetite suppression has been lackluster at best during the first week, and I will be lucky if I lose one pound this week. With all the hype, I thought it would be amazing, but it is not. I am hoping for 2lbs/week weight loss on Zepbound. I am going to ask my doc if it is worth it to inject every five days instead of every 7, bc I have a three month supply of 5.0 in the fridge.
