This is actually not a stupid question. A lot of people don't know that.

If you don’t know this, you shouldn’t be allowed to drive. You clearly know so little about the basic systems of the vehicle that you are a hazard to everyone around you.

+100

I'm betting pp also doesn't know the difference between their light settings. Highbeams, regular, fog, daytime, etc.

Np. A lot of us grew up in the south where it doesn’t freeze. There’s a lot I wasn’t taught.

It’s better if you start off in a garage. Sometimes I roll down my windows to let the cool air in. That helps a lot in the beginning. But yeah, the defrosters are your friend.

I have no idea if this is a thing but my windows seem to fog easier when I haven’t cleaned the inside in a while. So I try to do that regularly.

It happens when I bring in a hot beverage. Cracking the windows is a fast fix if chilly.

I love that you included pics! But yes, you need to defog by using these defrost buttons.

You need to turn on the air circulation at max, hot, AND turn on the defrosters, while opening your vents.

This is actually not a stupid question. A lot of people don't know that.

There is a difference in air temperature between your cabin air mass and the outside air mass.

Because literally everyone else around you can figure out how to turn on the window defroster.

Should you really be driving, as someone who couldn’t figure this out? Even as a Virginia-driver?

Did you read the owners manual? The part about windshield defroster settings?

There is damp in your car. Get some damp rid type product to keep in the car to alleviate the problem.

Also are you by chance a mouth breather?
