A- GPA at a rigorous private is different from A- at a public with grade inflation. Plus 1500 SAT is good and she might get it up.

Let her apply to the reaches.

Make sure she has several safeties and targets.

My kid sounds like yours and is at a T25 but not an Ivy...I would look at those T25 as "reaches" as well, places like Michigan, Wisconsin if she wants big, or others have suggested good smaller schools.

NP My current Ivy kid was told to apply to OSU as a safety, so it is thinkable.

BC is tougher than ever lately. I wouldn't count on it.

Bucknell would be a great option for a student like that.

She's used to a competitive environment, a tough workload, being surrounded by extremely bright peers, and the clout that's attached to attending a prestigious (nerd) school. Due to her grades, I fear the schools on her preliminary list are all reach schools, even though Naviance shows many of them as a match (I'm not convinced because many of the schools show NA for GPA). And her GC thinks it's too early to discuss. But we need to make plans to see schools this spring, and I don't want to waste time and money seeing the wrong schools.
