Fly into Cancun. Arrange a transfer. They pick you up at airport, drive you to a dock, then you take a boat over to Isla Mujeres. Our boat dropped us right at the house we rented

Holbox is also walkable. In fact, there are no cars...

Not an island but several towns in Costa Rica could be good for you.

Was going to second Isla Mujeres, but rent a golf cart. It's the main form of transportation on the island and a fun way to get around. Better than Playa del Carmen, which is kind of cheesy and you can check out in an hour.

Isla Mujeres and Cozumel are also walkable in the town centers and are actual islands. Ambergris Caye in Belize is also walkable.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Aruba, and while it's not the most luxurious of hotels, the location is walkable, with lots of shops and restaurants right out the door. And, there are a lot of other nearby resorts in the same area.

Aruba if you stay where the main strip of hotels are - Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Ritz. There are a ton of shops and restaurants plus docks for sails, etc. We've never rented a car.

This is St. Martin, French side. In the heart of a town with shops and restaurants.

French side of St. Martin has boutique hotels in the heart of the restaurant district. Did you stay on the Dutch side or at an isolated villa?

Certain parts of seven mile beach on grand cayman are walkable (Westin is walkable to a grocery store and some restaurants). Easy cab or bus ride to Georgetown.

We went to Playa del Carmen, and while it's not an island, it is on the Caribbean and it is indeed walkable once you get there from the airport.

Are there any Caribbean islands that are easy to walk around? We've been to San Juan, which is reasonably walkable. We've been to others that are not, St, Martin, Jamaica, etc. But we haven't been everywhere. Any islands that stand out for walkability? We do not enjoy driving.
