We just watched Oppenheimer with our 14 year old and he really liked it. But he also likes war movies.

Some of the older phases of the marvel movies - Spider-Man Homecoming is good. A little “tension” with the bad guy but not super scary and there is a lot of humor. I have found the Ant man movies to have a lot of humor.

Genre interest would help. If he hasn't seen the Lord of the Rings trilogy, that'd be an epic journey to take him on.

He's beyond horrified if anything remotely sexy comes on. And hates horror/scary/overly emotional...
