These types of cravings may be due to blood sugar crashes. I learned a lot about this when I wore a CGM from Signos.

I try to avoid the crashes that make me challenge my willpower.

If you are "cheating" you don't really love the program and the program isn't really working for you. We all love and want quick results, but programs with quick results also tend to be overly restrictive and lead to the exact behavior you are describing- craving sweets between meals, good/bad all or nothing mentality, "cheating" and feeling like you field if you eat a cookie.

All that aside- I am an out of sight out of mind person. I will forget we have cookies in the house if they are tucked away, but leave them on the counter and I will want one every time I walk by.

You can also not buy these times. But that can be hard as others in the house may want them.

I listen to podcasts that extol the benefits of healthy eating and reveal the negative effects of unhealthy eating based on scientific studies. It really has completely changed my mindset.

I love food, but now I really consider not only the taste but how does it affect my body not only in the short term (weight) but the longterm (disease).

This episode was amazing. It highlights the best of years of episodes through a few minutes long snippets, and then I went back and listened to the episodes that I found the most intriguing.

I'm not plant-based, but it still provided such good information. I now am able to avoid processed foods, sugar, fried foods, etc. with ease! Good luck!

Can eat local honey too, just don’t over do it, 1-2 tb each day in tea or with a banana and peanut butter. Also try baking your own sweets from scratch when you crave something. Eat a couple and give the rest away to a neighbor.

What can you eat on your program? I have gone cold turkey on sugar/wheat at one point and right now it's sodium. You need to get through the hump where your body is bugging you for that stuff by just eating a bunch of whatever you can eat. When I was going through sugar withdrawal, I just ate cheese and natural peanut butter until my body stopped bothering me. With salt, it's rice cakes and some things that are mildly sweetened but no salt. It takes about 10 days to two weeks to get your tastes adjusted. Now if I get a bite of something 'normal' it tastes like I'm licking a salt shaker.

I will also say that those "quick results" plans are not really the right way to lose weight. You already can't sustain it.

Don’t buy anything like that when you’re grocery shopping. Stock the fridge with fresh fruit. Drink lots of water. If you can go without any added sugar for 2 weeks the cravings will really diminish. After that if you crave something you have to go to the store and buy it when you want it, no stocking up or keeping it around the house. And then buy the smallest size you can find.
