JTCC camp is much better than Landon, if you are willing to drive to College Park. The quality of coaching is much, much better.

Any recent feedback on Bethesda Tennis Academy at Carderock Springs? They have swimming in the afternoon, may or may not do that part.

Has anyone done MSA tennis camp? We do the after school programming during the year but have never done camps. It’s a good program since the coaches we have are great. But I doubt they use these same coaches since it’s an all day thing vs one hour.

It’s hard to get around the outside component when it comes to tennis. I think Montgomery county through their Active program has one of the few indoor courts for summer play in the area - Pauline betz. I could be wrong there though. And Georgetown prep has indoor courts but I think those are only used for the kids during winter classes.

Landon is outside and they are outside all day. But to the PP who said it was intense, I think that is age specific. For little kids, I think there's lots of tennis-inspired games and some skill learning, but they also played on the playground. But it is a ton of time outside!

Is the Landon tennis camp indoor or outdoor? Anyone know of any indoor tennis camps in the area? My kiddo kind of wilts in the DC summer sun, so looking for an indoor tennis option.

OP. Thanks previous poster - I was really considering Landon. And while I want intensive, I’m pretty sure my kiddo does not. So good to know. likely would not be a good fit for her personality.

I would avoid Landon tennis camp. It's pretty intense - they are on the tennis courts all day. Aside from lunch, they don't do any activities other than tennis.

Trying to find a summer tennis camp to enroll my rising 3rd grader in. Specifically looking for a program that does not involve swimming, but has ample time off the courts for breaks and staying out of the sun/heat all day long. Also, of course, want it to be fun.

Bethesda and surrounding area is ideal. Any recommendations?

We liked the JTCC camp which has early bird registration open now (in College Park)
