I have had State Farm since 1987 or something. It’s always been fine.
Have you ever had to make a claim?
Yes, a couple of times. Never had a problem.
The ONLY thing I didn’t like is I once made an uninsured motorist claim when someone backed into my parked car in a DC garage while I was working. I discovered it when I came down to commute home. It resulted in about $2,500 in front-end damage to the light assembly and panels etc. There were absolutely no issues fixing it with State Farm, it’s just that five years later when I went to trade it in on a new car they told me the CarFax came back reporting the car having been in an “accident” and they lowballed the trade-in by … you guessed it! About $2,500!
Could have just been a sleazy car dealer but the “accident” notation was definitely on the CarFax. I guess technically it qualified but I don’t think this is what most people think when they hear “accident.” Most people would think of a collision where two cars were in motion at the same time.
