No ac and heat is a stove that you have to pray that you don’t die of co2 poisoning. And if there is afire ban in the area (very common near national parks) you cannot use it.

Bugs and rodents? Didn’t see any but it’s a canvas tent and yes they can get in!

The Grand Canyon one is awful, there is no view except of a nearby airport and barren desert scrub. Plus it was horribly noisy with all the kids running around. Showering is a mess and you have to pay more to have an en-suite bathroom otherwise you have to walk around in the dark to get to the communal facility.


You also can’t park in front of your tent.

$1200 for a few nights in a tent with no electricity?? Lol y’all are falling for a scam!

I posted upthread my sister stayed there. She thought it was pricey but it was a good option when she booked too late to get a place in the park. If you can stay in the park, that’s the best IMHO.

There’s also no Wi-Fi, pool or hot tub, and they’re all uppity about being eco conscious - you have limited hot water for your shower and there is no electricity in the tents. Additionally, the shower is a pull chain head, which really sucks if you are wanting an actual shower (which you need if you’re out hiking all day) vs just rinsing off.

While some might like this, we didn’t. I’ll take a hotel - or a cabin at a koa for that matter. A koa gives you all that stuff at a cheaper price - and a better location to the national park. We were a good 45 minutes away from the park, when there was a koa no more than 5 miles from the park entrance.

I stayed in the one in Yellowstone - really enjoyed it. It was indeed expensive but it was a good compromise between real camping and a hotel. Made everyone in our group happy.

We did the one at Arches. It was a splurge. We loved it. But we prefer to be outside rather than in a hotel so we often choose camping to hotels.

Too expensive for what you get. The idea of these places can be cool but it is still camping. The one we went to did not even have private bathrooms. You’re sharing with the others. For the price you pay for this, that just ruins it (some under canvas places have en-suite bathrooms though)

We loved the one at yelllowstone and would love to stay at another one.

Our best friends stayed in the Zion one and raved about it. I would absolutely do Bryce in June.

We stayed in Acadia. Liked it but would not do it for more than 2 nights. That's us though.

My sister and family stayed at the one outside the Grand Canyon and thought it was great.

I was also pretty interested in these sites til I saw how expensive they are so also curious

Has anyone ever stayed at one of their sites. They look nice, but are pretty expensive. Wondered if you recommend or would do it again. Moderate priced hotels are less expensive and I am one the fence on booking the Bryce Canyon location for 2 nights in June.
