Another Delaware beach bookstore to visit is Biblion on Second Street in Lewes. We’ve spent hours browsing there over the years.

Love Solid State! The only thing I ask for for the holidays is a gift card to SS so I can go browse and pick books.

Not local but since you mentioned travel, Browseabout in Rehoboth.

I grew up shopping there and now my kids adore it, which warms my heart more than I can say.

One More Page is good, but very small. I prefer Politics and Prose.

One More Page is great! I’m in DC so I mostly use politics and prose since it’s easier for me to pick up orders there.

We are in Arlington. For children's books through elementary school hands down Barston's Child's Play on Langston Blvd.

Our closest independent is One More Page in Falls Church. It's small but we support it as much as possible.

I love visiting independent book stores when I travel and would like to visit more independent bookstores locally this winter. Please share your favorite stores — especially in VA and MD.

My favorite DC independents are East City and Solid State.
