Quite a few are shipped out of the Port of Baltimore for resale in Africa. There was a recent news story on it that should come up in Google. That has been going on a long time, volume has increased.

There were 7,000 cars stolen in DC in 2023, are we going to outpace that? Unlike the suburbs, it's not super common to have lockable garages in DC and historically people do a lot of street parking.
I don't see where wheel and rim theft is tracked but that is also up significantly throughout DMV.
Korean cars have become very difficult to insure for any price, so insurance companies do react to trends.
