Why don’t you let her apply to schools she’d like? Why do you have to play this strategy game - why can’t you let her drive her own college search?

Full pay…trust from grandparents will fund all education for life. Thanks tho

Still, pick the cheapest school because she will need her trust to support her paltry income for the rest of her life and make sure she has something left for elder care.

what's that old saying? Shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in 3 generations?

OP - I don't think there are too many schools out there - even the schools that would be strong in this major - where they would get so many kids who want to major in this, they would have to turn kids away. This isn't exactly a Computer Science major at UMD type of scenario.

That's good, because when she needs to get a second degree for something where she can get an actual job...

But maybe it would be advantageous to apply to schools where they don’t get that many applications for this major?

Rice?
Wake?

Junior DD- with 3.9 uw GPA and unique pointy ECs (private HS) related to women’s studies/women’s rights/intersectionality (along with corresponding summer internship this year) is looking to assemble a strong list of colleges to visit.

In particular… Looking for schools that are selective where it may be advantageous to apply to this major. Ideas??
