The funny thing is that we switched to another private. They tried to screw us to prevent us from leaving, and that caused us to move when we had no plans for leaving. Karma.

Isn’t FCPS aware of this? Do they not take private schools not helping into consideration?

Parents. I put the application together early on (Sept) and during the first parent-teacher conference at our 2nd graders private school, the teacher brought up the concept of "not being able to meet their needs." They suggested further enrichment, and then I brought up AAP. I subsequently followed up with them several months later (Nov) and asked "for a strong recommendation" using the HOPE scale. And it was.

This seems like a terrible idea - they have zero incentive to provide your child with a good reference. They want your tuition.

Wasn't a referral due Dec 15? I think you have missed the deadline.

This is likely some FCPS plot to filter applicants and improve their DEI numbers.

Oh hell no. This should be submitted by the parent.

My daughter's teacher told me today that the school can submit her AAP level 4 application for us, and asked that I provide all the parent forms and work samples for them to process the application for me. (She attends a private school.) Is it normal? I thought that the application package is to be submitted by the parents.
