We did this. Be sure to choose your paint carefully. Not color but finish. If there’s any gloss at all, you’ll see glare and every imperfection in the ceiling.

Very dark room might look strange w a white ceiling.

Painting the ceiling the same color as the walls will make the room feel smaller. So if you’re going or cozy it should work.

It’s only paint, don’t sweat it. Nobody would try this if they didn’t like decorating and if you like decorating you have to take some risks. Paint is as good as it gets in terms of risk/reward.

It will really depend on your lighting situation.

You can always repaint, but the dark paint does add a bit of difficulty.

It sounds amazing to me. I get migraines and would love a nice cozy dark room to relax in.

We have a N facing room, it’s on the small side—around 11’x12’, but the N facing wall has a nearly wall-to-wall oversized window. We want to create a really cozy spot for reading, outfitting the room in heavy fabrics and dark woods. We are considering painting the ceiling the same dark color as the walls. Much like this:

If you’ve done this, did you regret it, particularly at night when it’s dark?
