Why not take the MCPS health class that meets state graduation requirements?

It will not complicate college admissions. Once you have an M number (student number) for MC, you can order a transcript online. It takes about 1 minute to be delivered to your inbox or anyone else's. Much easier than requesting a high school transcript.

I mentioned it since there were kids applying to UMD that had difficulties. Perhaps they forgot to request the MC transcript?

Yes, they probably forgot.

If you’re going to pay for a summer class anyway, might as well get college credit from MC.

Has she taken health? Thats a good class to get out of way in the summer online through MCPS, especially now that they have to take 2 semesters.

DD has done both Health classes over the summer. It was a lot of busy work but wasn't anything difficult.

The TE credit will likely be CMSC 110 (Computer Concepts), and it frees her up to take another year of band, or AP Econ. She will be entering 11th grade after this summer. So just curious how MC's MCSC compares in quality and rigor to classes offered at the local high school.

Was there a reason why the counselor had advised to wait until after sophomore year?

Not the PPP, but I suspect it has to do with maturity and responsibility. College level courses require the student to show up, follow the syllabus, complete midterms and finals. There is going to be a lot less hand holding so depending on the students it’s helpful to have some HS under their belt.

Is there an MC class that satisfies the Health A and B requirement?

DD is thinking about taking a computer class at MC to complete her TE credit. She might even sign up for another class if she has time. This will be over the summer. She is otherwise not in the dual enrollment program for any other reason than to take a couple of classes at MC.

If you have a high schooler who did this, how did your child find the MC classes? Were they more rigorous than the equivalent class offered at their local HS? How was the teacher's quality and curriculum?
