Well, they are a new club, founded in 2018... The U8/U9 teams are the first homegrown teams that have come through their pipeline "Youth Academy". Yes the kids will have to look elsewhere if they don't get ECNL/MLS Next.

Agreed about using those kids. Fun fact: more than half of them came from FCV who they were formerly known as Barca academy before they merged.

They never merged. Not sure about more than half, but maybe.

The online school is not good and it costs about $8,000 a year (at least according to a current DCU parent who was complaining about it to us).

"Beginning in January 2024, DC United will partner with VA Revolution and SAI to use the RSA as the home for DC United Academy players who are on the pathway to a professional career. “D.C. United is proud to work with VA Revolution to offer our academy players enhanced programming including online school and multiple training sessions per day."

I interpret DC United academy players will come to Revolution sports plex to use their indoor offices for SAI and RSA for school. Only available to DC United academy players and not VA Revolution players. Virginia Revolution SC and DCU both have teams in UPSL. Why would DC United Academy not use an SAI partnership with Loudoun United as a professional career? That makes more sense to me than VA Revolution, who does have an UPSL team, but MLS Next and Academy-USL-MLS makes more sense to me.

How do you all interpret this information? Do we have inside details? What does this mean for the future of VA Revolution players-going into-DC United Academy?
