Met up with a friend for a couple hours to practice his sport but otherwise relaxed at home with screens. We are decompressing after a big vacation.

Slept in and went to the gym with his friend

As a parent of two teens who are both only very occasionally see friends and have to be cajoled to get up and move, I’d say count your blessings there, OP. This time with them is very short-lived.

Feel free to say no. Other than mandatory things, I often say no to DD. Sometimes it results in friends coming over, sometimes not. Either way, it’s fine.

Yeah, you evolve from "daycare provider" to "Uber driver". I'm getting ready right now for two school dropoffs (different times)...then it'll obviously be two pickups, followed by sports picking back up tomorrow. It can be exhausting, but I'm doing my best to enjoy it right now while it lasts.

Mine chilled. But we just got back from vacation today so we were unpacking and eating.

Why should they slow down? They're doing their lives.

I think one of them fapped at least twice. The other was vaping pot this afternoon. Their sister did some crochet.

Mine don’t slow down either, unless you count sitting down to inhale food as slowing down.

My teens are constantly so busy that I'm exhausted. You'd think the last day before school starts back up, they'd slow down but they haven't. They each had a sport practice this morning (not official. Just one they organized); then we had a family lunch, then they each wanted to see friends. They finally came home at 6pm but it is always like this. Is this normal? If we say no, they goof around at home but they still don't slow down.
